Lotus's Alan Permane reckons that Romain Grosjean's recent upswing in form suggests he has what it takes to lead the team next year.

Grosjean had scored points at the previous four races, including a third-place finish in Germany. He currently stands eighth in the Driver's Championship with 57 points. "I wouldn't call it a breakthrough but since Nurburgring and Hungary," Permane added. "He's just been getting better and better and better. "He had a difficult Friday, when he had a few car problems and didn't run a great deal, an excellent Saturday - we knew we had the potential to do well - and he delivered. "I think for him - for his head - that will be very, very important. He'll know that he can do it. We did everything to give him two sets of tyres in qualifying three, he used them and did a great job. "So I think that's very important for Romain - for his development."
