Benoit Cheyrou was Marseille's late hero against Bordeaux as his goal held the Ligue 1 champions and league leaders to a 1-1 draw.
Reported Premier League target Marouane Chamakh gave the hosts the lead on the stroke of half-time at Stade Chaban Delmas.
But they were reduced to 10 men on the hour mark when Marc Planus saw red for a bad tackle.
And Marseille capitalised on their numerical advantage with Cheyrou's late strike.
The result moved Bordeaux seven points clear of Lille at the top of the table while Marseille climbed to fourth, above Lyon, Monaco and Auxerre on goal difference.
