Lancashire derby ends all square
Craig Stanley's second-half goal earned Morecambe a share of the spoils as their Lancashire derby with Accrington ended in a 1-1 draw.
Midfielder Stanley scored with a free-kick five minutes into the second-half at Christie Park with a set piece that took a wicked deflection as it beat Kenny Arthur in the Accrington goal.
The goal was the second notable deflection of the evening after an own goal from Henry McStay gave the visitors a fifth-minute lead when he diverted Terry Gornell's cross past goalkeeper Barry Roche.
Jimmy Ryan wasted a glorious chance tom make it 2-0 a few moments later, but from there Morecambe dominated.
The home side, with just one win to their credit this season, came closest to scoring a second with efforts from Stewart Drummond and Aaron Taylor that hit the crossbar in the first-half.
Drummond also forced Arthur into a fine save before missing a glorious chance from six-yards out.
