Uruguayan suspended for five matches
Lecce striker Ernesto Chevanton has been given a five-match ban following his sending-off against Sampdoria.
The Serie A outfit went down 3-2 to Samp on Sunday and Chevanton was shown a straight red card for a poor challenge on defender Reto Ziegler.
The Uruguay international, 30, then threw his shirt at the referee before a heated exchange with the fourth official.
Lecce are battling to avoid the drop this season in the Italian top-flight and losing Chevanton until January will be a major blow to their hopes.
He will now miss league games against Cagliari, Genoa, Chievo and Napoli with the Giallorossi travelling to Cagliari this weekend.
