Espanyol star Raul Baena has been sidelined for six weeks due to a muscle injury.
The midfielder, who was recently handed a call-up to the Spanish Under 21 squad, has suffered a muscle injury in his left leg.
The injury is a recurrence of a problem suffered earlier in the season and means he could miss the rest of the season.
Baena, who has been targeted by Blackburn, has already begun his rehabilitation.
Better news for Espanyol is that Javi Marquez, Duscher, Rui Fonte and Victor Alvarez are all back in training.
