Premier League target opts for Swiss move
FC Utrecht midfielder Michael Silberbauer has ruled out a move to an English club in the summer after agreeing a switch to Swiss side Young Boys.
The versatile Dane, who can play as a winger or in central midfield, revealed his desire to join a Premier League or Championship outfit late last year.
Silberbauer was linked with a host of clubs in England and Scotland, with Blackburn, Bolton and Celtic among those thought to be chasing his signature.
But Utrecht have confirmed the 29-year-old will instead link up with Young Boys on a four-year deal at the end of the season.
The Denmark international, whose contract with Utrecht expires in the summer, will join the Swiss club on a free transfer.
Eredivisie outfit Utrecht already have a replacement for Silberbauer, having signed Kevin Strootman from Sparta Rotterdam in January.
