Rookie Morecambe defender Niall Cowperthwaite has signed a new one-year contract at the Globe Arena.
Cowperthwaite scored his first Football League goal on the final day of the season against Northampton. New Shrimps boss Jim Bentley said: "Niall was outstanding in the reserves and did well when he got his chance in the first team towards the end of the season. "I think he is someone who could have a good future in the game and I am delighted to have him on board again."
