Midfielder signs three-year contract after leaving Bayern

Hertha Berlin have stepped up their preparations for next season in the Bundesliga after signing Andreas Ottl from Bayern Munich on a free transfer. The midfielder has signed a three-year contract with the 2.Bundesliga champions and follows fellow former Bayern player Thomas Kraft in making the move. Ottl, 26, made 15 appearances for Munich in the Bundesliga last season and Hertha hope he will be able to add top-flight knowhow to their squad. "Andreas Ottl is an experienced Bundesliga player, who will help us not only next season but also in the years to come," said Hertha general manager Michael Preetz. Ottl said: "Hertha Berlin are the new challenge that I am looking forward to after 15 years in Munich. "It will be really exciting to play in front of the big crowds they get at the Olympic Stadium."
