Shot-stopper commits to Freiburg until 2015
Freiburg goalkeeper Oliver Baumann has signed a one-year contract extension at badenova-Stadion.
The Germany Under-21 international's previous deal was due to expire in 2014, but he has committed to an additional 12 months.
Schalke, who sold Manuel Neuer to Bayern Munich earlier in the summer, are reportedly keen on Baumann, however, the contract extension could dampen their interest.
Freiburg general manager Dirk Dufner told
kicker-Sportmagazin: "We are proud to have been able to keep one of the most interesting young goalkeepers in Germany at our club.
"Oliver ties himself down to a deal with Freiburg because he is aware he has every opportunity to progress as a goalkeeper at our club.
"He is 100 per cent behind the club."
