Experienced centre-back suffering from thigh problem
Ivar Ingimarsson is likely to miss the start of the new Championship campaign after picking up a thigh injury.
The Iceland International, who joined Ipswich on a free transfer from Reading during the summer, has missed all the club's pre-season games so far due to the ongoing problem.
The 34-year-old is now likely to miss the season's opener in two weeks' time against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
Manager Paul Jewell said: "He's been doing some fitness work but we're aware he's got a thigh strain.
"It's a difficult one because if we push him too much and he tears it, he'll be out for a long time."
