Stopper set for surgery on fractured foot

Freiburg right-back Mensur Mujdza fears he could be sidelined until January after suffering a foot injury while on international duty with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mujdza fractured his foot during Tuesday night's 1-1 Euro 2012 qualifying draw in France, which secured Bosnia a spot in the play-offs for next summer's tournament. The 27-year-old, a first-team regular at Freiburg, is set to undergo surgery on the injury next Monday. And the stopper says he could be out for three months as he recovers. He told Badische Zeitung: "The team doctors have had a look at the injury and have said I will be out. "This is very unfortunate for me. I could miss up to three months of action. "I will need to have surgery, which will be next Monday."
