Front-man eager to make a mark with League One outfit

Huddersfield Town's latest recruit Kallum Higginbotham has expressed his delight after moving from Falkirk to the Galpharm Stadium. The 22-year-old striker signed a two-year with the Terriers as the transfer window came to an end on Tuesday. Higginbotham started his career at Rochdale before moving north of the border where he enjoyed a two-year spell with the Scottish First Division side. The Salford-born frontman scored seven goals in his 50 appearances for the side and won the Man of the Match accolade as Falkirk beat Celtic in the league cup semi-finals last month. "I first heard Huddersfield were interested in me after the Falkirk game on Sunday," he told the club's official website.

Opportunity

"I knew immediately it was a massive opportunity to come down here; Huddersfield Town is a big club. I was hoping things would go through, but then it went a bit quiet yesterday but then I got a phone call this morning and I've been in a mad rush to get down here from Scotland. "I've followed the English leagues closely as obviously I'm from Manchester, as well as being an ex-Rochdale player. I know that Huddersfield always seem to be in and around the promotion chase and I hope I can make a difference to that aim this year." Higginbotham was joined by Murray Wallace who also made the switch from Falkirk to Huddersfield but will remain with the Scottish side on loan until the end of the season. "Murray is a magnificent player," Higginbotham added. "He only came in six months ago, but the transformation has been unbelievable. "If anyone deserved this move it is him, because he works tirelessly hard; he's in the gym every single morning. I can't speak highly enough about him and I'm glad he's here with me." Higginbotham could make his debut for Huddersfield in the League One fixture against MK Dons on Saturday at the Galpharm Stadium.
