Stalemate frustrates Robinson

Image: Robinson: Wanted three points

Karl Robinson was disappointed with a point after watching his MK Dons side draw 1-1 with Hartlepool at Victoria Park.

The visitors, hit by injury and suspension, needed a second-half leveller from James O'Shea to cancel out James Poole's 41st-minute opener for Pools. MK Dons dominated the opening half, but shots on goal were few and far between - the closest they came to opening the scoring was when Luke Chadwick's shot was deflected onto a post by Sam Collins. Chadwick also fired against the frame of the goal in the second-half, but was one of the Dons' walking wounded after he suffered a knee injury in the warm-up. "I'm convinced we were the better team," said Robinson. "We had players not fit and came here without four or five who would normally have started. "It's ridiculous to miss too many, Chadwick did his knee in the warm-up and to put a performance like we did we were gutted at half-time with that sucker punch, but came back and were again the better team."
