Rennes chairman Frederic de Saint Sernin has moved to clarify the situation of want-away midfielders Yann M'Vila, Tongo Doumbia and Yacine Brahimi.

Chairman says nothing done for M'Vila, Doumbia and Brahimi

Rennes chairman Frederic de Saint Sernin has moved to clarify the situation of want-away midfielders Yann M'Vila, Tongo Doumbia and Yacine Brahimi. All three players have confirmed their desire to leave the club this summer, but as it stands none have thus far been able to seal a move. The closest was seemingly Doumbia, after talks with West Bromwich Albion - but he has now returned to France after being unable to agree personal terms. On Doumbia, Saint Sernin told RMC: "There was no agreement between the player and the club." M'Vila remains with the club despite links to a host of clubs, and Saint Sernin says no deal has yet been agreed for him. "We have agreed with him to be transferred this summer," he said. "There are several clubs who have come forward but there was no offer, the clubs in question are big clubs and are clubs abroad." Brahimi claimed he was in talks to move to England, but Saint Sernin says they have not received an offer. "Brahimi is on the transfer list. He wished to leave. We have today not received a specific offer."
