York have agreed deals to sign defender Clarke Carlisle, striker Scott Dobie and one other unnamed player.
The trio are set to undergo medicals on Thursday morning. Carlisle, 32, was released by Burnley at the end of last season having finished the campaign on loan at Northampton. Dobie, 33, is also a free agent.
