Arsenal seal Altidore deal

Arsenal have signed Jozy Altidore for a Club record fee of £42.9M. Speaking to reporters outside Arsenal's training ground, Arsene Wenger hailed the landmark signing as one of the best ever and commented that attracting such players would eventually make Arsenal a 'big' club.
Hurt and wounded by Sami Khedira's failure to sign for them this summer, Arsene Wenger was determined to make up for it by signing the American power house. Khedira was reported to reject Arsenal's approach due to them not being 'big' enough. And despite the wages on offer, Sami was reluctant to join a club which had no chance of winning silverware in the near future.
Arsenal fans have a very interesting season ahead where they are expected to slug it out with the likes of Stoke, Everton and Swansea for a UEFA cup slot. It is highly likely that with Man United's resurgence Arsenal will not qualify for the Champions League next season.
