Lyon, Bordeaux and Le Mans all held

All of the top four who were in action on Saturday failed to win, with Lyon, Bordeaux and Le Mans all being held to away draws. Lyon remain top after they failed to overcome Auxerre in a goalless draw. But neither third placed Le Mans or Bordeaux in fourth could take advantage and close on the Champions. Le Mans were pegged back twice at Rennes before having to settle for a draw. Gervinho (11) put them ahead but within minutes Jimmy Briand levelled for the home side. Mathieu Coutadeur then fired home from the penalty spot to put Le Mans ahead at the break, but they could not hang on for the victory as Mickael Pagis fired home with just 12 minutes left. Bordeaux will be left kicking themselves as they conceded two goals in the last six minutes as Nice claimed a 2-2 draw. Goals from Wendell (10) and Fernando Cavenaghi (pen 57) put Bordeaux on their way to what looked like a victory, but Eric Mouloungui pulled one back on 84 minutes before Looc Remy's injury time penalty salvaged a draw for the home side. Le Mans and Bordeaux's failure to win means Marseille stay in second and they could move top on Sunday if they can beat rivals Paris Saint Germain at the Stade Velodrome. Toulouse missed the chance to move about Le Mans and Bordeaux in the late game as they played out a goalless draw with Monaco. Lille also missed the chance to close on the top end as they stay in sixth after being held at home by Caen. Lille looked on their way to victory as Ludovic Obraniak grabbed a first-half brace. But Caen hit back well as Nicolas Seube and Steve Savidan fired home to gave the away side a point. Le Havre moved off the bottom of the table after a big 2-1 win over Valenciennes - who they leapfrog in the progress. Valenciennes had made the perfect start as they silenced the home crowd with a goal in the opening 60 seconds as Luigi Pieroni fired home. But Jean-Michel Lesage was the Le Havre hero as he fired home either side of the interval to win the game. Le Havre are still third from bottom as Lorient moved out of the relegation zone with a convincing 3-0 win over Nantes. Fabrice Abriel opened the scoring on the half-hour before second-half goals from Jeremy Morel and Kevin Gameiro sealed the win.
