Ligue 1 round-up

Lyon continue to lead the way in Ligue 1, but are being pushed hard by Marseille and Bordeaux.

Top three all win and first three points for Sochaux

Lyon continue to lead the way in Ligue 1, but are being pushed hard by Marseille and Bordeaux as the title rivals all won. Bottom club Sochaux secured a first win of the season at the 13th attempt as fourth-placed Toulouse were held away from home. Brazilian striker Fred converted Kim Kallstrom's 55th minute cross to earn Lyon a 1-0 win away to mid-table Monaco. Marseille remain in second position after a 3-0 win at Grenoble, with Hatem Ben Arfa opening the scoring after just four minutes. Bakari Kone turned home Laurent Bonnart's cross for the second on 34 minutes before Benoit Cheyrou drilled home the third goal eight minutes from time. Bordeaux produced an improved second-half performance to win 2-0 at home to Auxerre, with Fernando Cavenaghi breaking the deadlock on 70 minutes. Substitute Marouane Chamakh made the points safe five minutes later when he headed home a cross from Yoann Gourcuff. It was lucky No.13 for Sochaux as the division's bottom side claimed a 2-1 win at home to Le Mans. Gervinho hit the post early on for Le Mans before Sochaux took a 30th minute lead through Francileudo dos Santos. Paulo Andre levelled for Le Mans at the end of the first half, but Ryad Boudebouz's 69th minute goal earned Sochaux a precious three points. Toulouse lost ground on the top three in the table after a battling 1-1 draw at lowly Nantes, who went ahead on five minutes through Guillaume Moullec. Andre-Pierre Gignac equalised from close range on 19 minutes after Francois Sirieix's shot had been saved before Moullec hit the bar with a free-kick for Nantes. Nicolas Dieuze headed home from close range on 83 minutes to secure Le Havre an important 1-0 triumph at Caen. Nice picked up a 1-0 victory at Lorient, with Olivier Echouafni grabbing the only goal of the game on 24 minutes.
