England and Wales aim for Sweden

The qualifiers for the European Under-21 championship play-offs have been decided after the final round of qualifiers on Tuesday. England, Austria, Spain and Finland had already sealed their places in the draw for the play-offs after they won their respective groups. They have now been joined by fellow group winners Italy, Turkey, Switzerland, Serbia, Germany and Wales. The 10 group winners will be joined by the four best runners-up in the play-offs. They will then meet to decide the seven countries who join hosts Sweden in the finals next summer. The four best runners-up are confirmed as Belarus, France, Israel and Denmark. A host of big names failed to make the play-offs. Holders Holland, Croatia and Portugal all bowed out after failing to win on Tuesday.
