Winning ways please Williams

Assistant boss Anthony Williams stressed the importance of finding different ways to win games after Crawley's 1-0 win over Oldham.

A sixth-minute goal by defender Joe Walsh proved enough to send the Latics down to their fourth defeat in five games, and Williams was delighted to get a win without his side playing at their best. The Welshman said: "We created the best chances but didn't play as well as we can do. "We could be higher up in the league than we are but as long as we continue to pick up points, who knows where we will end up in the coming months? "Had we got a second goal we would have killed the game off. Oldham closed us down in midfield and made things difficult, but there are different ways of winning football games." Crawley had drawn their previous matches against Shrewsbury and Colchester and Williams was quick to admit his men did not play as well this time out. He added: "Our early goal helped but we have to find ways to break teams down. We didn't play as well and won, whereas last week we played better and only drew. "But we have taken 11 points out of five games and I'm delighted with our form. It possibly should have been more because in the last two games we have played better than we have here. "What is pleasing is that the players are seeing the need to win in different ways."
