Image: Messi bagged a hat-trick on Sunday to break Barca's all-time scoring record

Lionel Messi warmed up for El Clasico by breaking Barcelona’s all-time scoring record – but can the Argentina ace lead the Catalan giants to a vital victory at the Bernabeu on Sunday?

That’s the question Revista de La Liga guests Guillem Balague, Gaizka Mendieta and Graham Hunter will try to answer on Tuesday’s show.

Messi helped himself to a hat-trick as Barcelona crushed Osasuna 7-0 at the weekend to surpass Paulino Alcantara’s 80-year-old mark of 369 goals in all competitions, including friendlies.

However, despite Messi hitting 371 in the famous Barca colours, the current La Liga champions still trail fierce rivals Real Madrid by four points after Cristiano Ronaldo saw Los Blancos to a 1-0 triumph at Malaga.

Atletico Madrid remain right in the mix, too, after beating Espanyol – but the showdown between Spain’s two biggest clubs on Sunday is set to have a serious impact on the title race.

Barcelona won the reverse fixture 2-1 in October but can ill-afford to slip-up at the home of the league leaders.

We’ll preview the titanic contest - which you can see live on Sky Sports 1HD from 7.30pm on Sunday - on the show.

Plus, we’ll bring the best of the action from the latest round of fixtures in Spain’s top flight, which saw Real Sociedad keep the pressure on Athletic Bilbao in the race for fourth, Sevilla maintain their Champions League ambitions with a 4-1 win at struggling Valladolid and Getafe and Grenada play out a six-goal thriller.
