Bluebirds late show denies Plymouth first home win.

Cardiff came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at Plymouth courtesy of Steven Thompson's late goal. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake put Ian Holloway's men in control with a goal in each half, but Cardiff fought back with goals from Gavin Rae and substitute Thompson to earn an unlikely point.

Opener

Plymouth broke the deadlock on the half hour mark when Cardiff failed to clear their lines from a free kick and the ball dropped to Ebanks-Blake who superbly fired his shot high into the net past Ross Turnbull. The home side doubled their lead on 58 minutes with Ebanks-Banks bagging his second of the game and his fourth goal of the season. Akos Buzsaky saw his shot from the edge of the box pushed out by Turnbull, but Ebanks-Blake reacted quickest to snaffle home the rebound. Cardiff introduced Robbie Fowler on the hour mark and the former Liverpool hero came close to scoring when he saw his effort saved by Luke McCormick and from the rebound Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink saw his effort deflected just wide. The visitors pulled a goal back on 71 minutes, with Gavin Rae netting his first goal for his new club. Hasselbaink and Fowler combined to set up Paul Parry who saw his shot superbly save by McCormick, but Rae was on hand to tap home the rebound. Cardiff drew level a minute from time when Thompson popped up the back post to poke the ball past McCormick.
