Hosts run riot to get back on winning track
Paul Simpson's Shrewsbury secured their first win in three games in emphatic style as they hammered woeful Gillingham 7-0.
They snatched the lead when Michael Jackson powered home a header from a Ben Davies corner and it was two shortly afterwards when a Dave Hibbert shot took a deflection to leave Simon Royce stranded.
The rampant Shrews added a third through a Davies free-kick which went straight through the wall and it was four before the break when Graham Coughlan headed in from close range.
Shane Cansdell-Sherriff side-footed in a fifth, Grant Holt made it six from the spot after Simon King had brought him down, and Davies completed the scoring with a stunning free-kick.
