Striker scores twice in victory at relegation rivals
Alex Revell grabbed a brace as Wycombe claimed a valuable 3-0 victory over fellow strugglers Tranmere at Prenton Park.
Revell scored goals either side of half-time and Matt Bloomfield added a late third to round off an impressive performance by the visitors.
Wycombe opened the scoring after 15 minutes. Gareth Ainsworth's initial effort was blocked but the ball ran to Revell who coolly slotted into the corner from 10 yards.
Ian-Thomas Moore saw a shot deflect narrowly wide and Ash Taylor forced Tom Heaton into action with a header as Rovers looked to respond.
Paul McLaren shaved the bar for the hosts immediately after the restart, but it was Wycombe who grabbed the game's next goal in the 69th minute when Revell charged down a clearance by Rovers goalkeeper Luke Daniels before lobbing home from 25 yards.
Bloomfield heaped further misery on Tranmere with five minutes remaining as he headed home Kevin Betsy's cross.
