Second-half goals seal surprise 2-0 win for Wanderers
Second-half goals from Jon-Paul Pittman and substitute Matt Phillips handed struggling Wycombe a morale-boosting 2-0 win over relegation rivals Hartlepool.
Pittman's neat 66th-minute finish and Phillips's late solo goal fired Gary Waddock's men to their first win in nine games and ended Pools' two-match winning run.
Wycombe dominated from the start, with Lewis Montrose and Gareth Ainsworth both coming close after Pools goalkeeper Scott Flinders had twice miscued punches from Craig Woodman corners.
Hartlepool rarely threatened but the unmarked Andy Monkhouse headed Joe Gamble's corner over the bar from six yards on the stroke of half-time.
Wanderers piled forward after the break and substitute Lewis Hunt - on for injured skipper Adam Hinshelwood - headed another Woodman corner against the inside of the post seven minutes after the restart.
Pittman finally put Wycombe ahead midway through the second period, controlling Woodman's deep cross on his chest and slotting past Flinders from six yards. And Phillips wrapped up the win in fine style, jinking past Ben Clark in the box before drilling the ball low past Flinders.
