1980: Born Johannesburg, South Africa, July 30
1991: Breaks 70 for the first time aged 11
1994: Gets handicap down to +3 aged 14
1995: Wins both McGregor Trophy (English Boys Under-16 Stroke Play Championship) and Carris Trophy (English Boys Under-18 Stroke Play Championship)
1997: Plays in Walker Cup aged 17 and 10 days, the second youngest player to do so.
1998: July 19 - Holes a 45-yard pitch at the 18th to finish fourth in The Open at Royal Birkdale. Announces he is to turn professional
July 23 - Begins first tournament as a pro, the Dutch Open, and shoots a 77
July 24 - A stunning second round of 65 cannot prevent Rose missing the cut
November 11 - Signs a three-year deal with ball manufacturers Maxfli reported to be worth up to £600,000
November 21 - Makes cut by one shot at European Tour qualifying school
1999: June 26 - After 21 successive missed cuts Rose progresses to the final two days for the first time as a professional at the Compaq European Grand Prix at Slaley Hall
2002: January 21 - Wins first tournament, the Dunhill Championship, in Johannesburg, and follows up with victory at Nashua Masters on South Africa's Sunshine Tour
July 18 - Outscores playing partner and world number one Tiger Woods by two shots to take a share of the lead on the opening day of the Open at Muirfield
2003: June 15 - Finishes fifth on his US Open debut at Olympia Fields.
2004: April - Leads the Masters at the halfway stage but shoots an 81 on the third day to drop out of contention.
2006: November 26 - Records his third victory on the European Tour, winning the MasterCard Masters in Melbourne by two strokes.
2007: April 8 - In contention for the Masters again, just one stroke behind eventual champion Zach Johnson with two holes to play, but a double-bogey six at the 17th hole ends his chances and he finishes tied for fifth.
May - Loses to Anders Hansen in a play-off at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth but moves into the world's top 20 for the first time.
November 4 - Wins Volvo Masters in a play-off to finish top of the European Tour Order of Merit.
2008: September - Wins three points out of five as Europe lose the Ryder Cup at Valhalla.
2010: Wins twice on the PGA Tour, including the prestigious Memorial Tournament but is overlooked for a Ryder Cup wild card by captain Colin Montgomerie.
2011: Wins BMW Championship in Chicago.
2012: March - Wins first WGC event in Cadillac Championship.
August 12 - Records best finish in a major to date by finishing third in US PGA Championship, albeit nine shots behind winner Rory McIlroy.
September 30 - Secures vital singles win over Phil Mickelson as Europe come back from 10-6 down to win the Ryder Cup in the 'Miracle at Medinah'.
October - Wins Turkish Airlines World Golf Final, beating Tiger Woods in the semi-finals and Lee Westwood in the final.
November 25 - Shoots final round of 62 in season-ending DP World Tour Championship to finish second to McIlroy in both the tournament and Race to Dubai.
2013: June 16 - Wins US Open title at Merion.
