Dasaolu has been unable to take part in relay practice due to the hip problem which hampered his build-up to the event and, despite two sub-10-second clockings this summer, will not be in the quartet.
UK Athletics relay coach Rana Reider confirmed Sunday's foursome will now be made up of Adam Gemili, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, James Ellington and Dwain Chambers.
Reider said: "James hasn't been available for practice at all. We did some sessions before London (the Anniversary Games), but he hasn't been available since then.
"If he's having an issue and you don't know what he's going to be like coming through two or three rounds of the 100m, it's kind of hard to say he's going to be on the relay when these guys have been on the track together every couple of days practising."
Dasaolu admitted he was "disappointed" not to be selected, but said that he understood the decision.
"I would have loved to have been running with them but they are a very strong quartet," he said. "I wish the lads all the best for the competition."
Both Chambers and Aikines-Aryeetey failed to reach the final of the 100m, while Ellington got to the semi-final of the 200m, but Gemili became only the second Briton to break the 20-second barrier for the 200m this week and then finished an encouraging fifth in the final.
Raider believes this latest team can break a 14-year-old national record and after a string of dropped batons from British relay runners, is confident the four are well prepared.
"I watched the films of all the dropped sticks," the American, who has switched Gemili to the opening leg, added. "I think if you have guys that have had problems on a lot of occasions I think it becomes a mental thing.
"These guys have known for a couple of weeks who's going to run where. I think they have an idea. I'm there to help, but they have to take responsibility for what they're doing.
"(Adam) handles the start a little bit better and he only has to have one
hand-off, he's a little more comfortable with that."
